This is an episode bracketed in blood, starting with Roshone and his son on the surgical table, and ending with Shallan laying in a pool of her own blood. We explore Kaladin’s “recruitment” into Amaram’s army. In the “present day” Kaladin begins to turn a corner on his deep dark brooding. Shallan spends way too much time with Kabsal, and eventually finds herself in a Doctor Who episode.
Predictions:
- I’m more convinced than ever that the “Stormfather” is a spren. And that the highstorms and spren are related.
- The Parshendi’s terrible gods are giant chasmfiends…who are at least related to Voidbringers.
- Urithiru was The Tower. Portal to The Tranquilin Hall.
- We will see that Ardent who was with Teravangian again.
- I think that Jasnah is going to find out about the soulcaster, but wont guess at her motivation. And I think that this will be Shallan’s way out.
- I think that Shallan will end up being separated from Jasnah.
- What Shallan did isn’t the same type of Soulcasting that Jasnah is practicing. My reason for thinking this is because the blood on the floor actually came from Shallan. And I suspect that when Jasnah soulcasts the “essence” doesn’t come from her own body.
