In this episode we cover chapters 15 through 17 of The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. We learn that the Alethi are real dicks. Kaladin doesn’t know how to talk to kids his age. Arrows hurt….unless you’re Kaladin. Also, Liz doesn’t believe that the King Biscuit Flour Hour is a real thing.
If you want to get all the jokes, be sure you listen all the way to the end.
Predictions:
- The Parshendi are able to travel under the Alethi’s noses by travelling below the surface of the plains.
- I think that the Parshendi are similar to the Fremen in that they are harboring a huge secret, they worship the chasmfiends, because they know something that the rest of the world doesn’t know about them, and they have a secret way of travelling that no one knows about.
- The Parshendi worship something below the surface….
- Kaladin is unknowingly using stormlight when he fights to survive, or when he runs out of energy.
- The King’s girth was cut. The chull was fed something strange. And the rope holding the pig was cut as well.
- Laral was the reason that Kal decided to go to war. Something happens to her family after her father dies. Kaladin thinks that he is saving her when he joins the army.
- Spren aren’t real. Someone put acid in the crem.
- The “Broken One” resides in the “Origin” and the storms are his anger at the heralds and their betrayal.
- The weird sayings are memories from the shattering of the plain, perhaps even by invisible deathspren.
- The Parshendi have several spies amongst the Alethi.
In the next episode we will cover chapters 18 through 22. See you next week!

Your title reads chapter 17-17 lol.
I have that Kaladan did the right thing try to duild the endurance. It may not make much of a difference but it was a first in step in the bridge men taking control of their destiny. Im curious if the Duke has any guess on the author and receiver of the letter in the Epigraphs?

Good catch. I’ve fixed the title.
At this point I don’t have any guesses on the author of the letter.
Bryan McClure

Bryan McClure
